05/05/2024 read more ...After securing a solid spot in many of the Championship finals during the previous years, Alexey Glukhov – Anastasia Glazunova (MDA) finally peaked their position when winning the 2024 WDSF European Championship Standard in Chisinau, Moldova last week.
The couple dominated the 2023 WDSF GrandSlam Series, and with high expectations but willing to work hard for the title they entered the dancefloor in the Palace of the Republic, on their new home ground. The couple scored over 190 points on each qualification round, and at the time of the final it was clear that the couple was performing their very best in pursuit for the place on the top of the podium.
And they did it. At the end of the long competition day and five rounds where the fifth round was the exciting Championship final, the couple was crowned with a European Standard title, earning them a deserved seat among the title winners of the past years.
The beautiful final, with six talented and incredibly skilled couples and their mesmerizing dancing ended up with Rares Cojoc – Andreea Matei (ROU) earning their silver medals and Tomas Fainsil – Violetta Fainsil (GER) being awarded the bronze medals.
The final was completed with Vadim Shurin – Anastasia Meshkova (LAT) on the fourth place, Dariusz Mycka – Madara Freiberga (POL) on the fifth place and Dmitri Kolobov – Signe Busk (DEN) on the sixth place. Congratulations to all the medal winners and the finalists!
Total number of European couples participating was 56, marking a good start for the Championship year 2024 and stirring expectations for the upcoming title events.
